Senior Packaging Designer

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts

Compensation Range: $45 - 48 per hour

Are you ready to lead the visual evolution for a portfolio of household brands at a global retail industry leader? We are seeking a consultative partner to direct end-to-end, trend-forward brand packaging solutions from concept to shelf. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence cross-functional design decisions and drive global division growth. Candidates must be commutable to Framingham, Massachusetts in order to be considered.
 
Responsibilities:

• Brand Packaging Leadership: Direct the creation and development of trend-forward brand packaging and branding solutions across various categories (including boxes, hangtags, labels, etc.) to enable brand evolution across global divisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Development, Trend Teams, Buyers, and Merchandising to align packaging design with lifestyle needs, product categories, and compelling brand visions. Influence design decisions across the broader organization.
• Production & Quality Oversight: Follow projects through from concept to shelf, establishing parameters for acceptable tolerances in print, color, and construction. Oversee successful execution of all components before press and delivery, communicating closely with regulatory teams for proofing.
• Vendor & Deadline Management: Manage supplier relationships and navigate an established approval process to ensure vendor packaging quality meets strict Time & Action (T&A) timelines, deadlines, and efficiency goals.
• Team Direction: Prioritize, direct, and manage the daily output of internal designers, freelancers, interns, and contractors regarding design execution and content creation.
• Photography Direction: Oversee photography and requirements for packaging, directing styling and ensuring photo quality, proper content, and adherence to production timelines.
• Legal & Trademark Compliance: Partner with legal and trademark administrators to research new brand names and ensure all legal/trademark requirements are fully integrated into packaging designs. 

Qualifications:

• Industry Experience: Proven experience within the fashion, retail, or consumer goods industry is required, with a deep understanding of retail trend life cycles and consumer behavior.
• Proven track record as a Senior Packaging Designer executing multi-category consumer and retail product packaging.
• Expertise in end-to-end structural and visual package design, including boxes, hangtags, and labels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead creative teams, freelancers, and lifestyle photography styling production.
• Strong proficiency in print production compliance, regulatory alignment, and legal/trademark research frameworks.
