We are seeking talented Merchandising Managers (Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior) on behalf of our client, a globally renowned brand in the sportswear and consumer goods industry. We are building a high-caliber talent pool for upcoming corporate Merchandising needs to craft significant product mixes across diverse international marketplaces.

The nature of the work focuses on understanding consumer needs and market opportunities to deliver the right product, at the right price, in the right place, at the right time. Merchandising Managers blend art with science to bring product visions to life across retail environments, leading with Direct digital/physical spaces and expanding to wholesale retail partners.

Term: Roles are typically 6 to 12-month W2 contract assignments.

Location & Hybrid Schedule: Candidates must be local to Beaverton, Oregon (97005) to support a hybrid schedule. Remote-only applicants will not be considered.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Seasonal Planning & Strategy: Utilize marketplace data, consumer insights, foresight, and hindsight to make critical product decisions, influence teams, and develop seasonal plans that serve the consumer. Maintain the optimal balance between a pull and push market.
  • KPI Management & Analytics: Lead the management of merchandising KPIs through robust analysis of retail insights and performance. Rely on business reporting to analyze quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory, and consumer behaviors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build positive and trustworthy relationships with cross-functional partners-including Direct Merchants, Regional/Global Merchandising, Brand Marketing, Consumer Planning, Allocation, Finance, Operations, and Territory Merchants-to build and land optimized product assortments.
  • Geographic & Cultural Adaptation: Represent and serve the voice of the consumer across diverse global territories and key city centers. Differentiate key points of distribution and build assortments tailored to specific regional nuances with high cultural awareness.
  • Team Leadership & Insights: Provide qualitative and quantitative marketplace insights to Consumer Merchandising teams across athletic and gender constructs. Communicate a clear vision and purpose, cultivate innovation, and provide direction and mentorship to teammates. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in merchandising, product creation, and/or retail within a vertical or wholesale environment. Specific experience in footwear, apparel, and/or equipment merchandising is required.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to lead the management of merchandising KPIs through robust analysis of retail insights and performance.
  • Deep understanding of retail key performance indicators, profit-based metrics, and "retail math" (e.g., sell-through, gross margin).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and Keynote.
  • Strategic Planning & Problem Solving: Proven ability to utilize marketplace data to shape the future of the business, solve complex problems using limited information, and foresee long-term market implications.
  • Core Leadership Attributes: Self-directed and independent professional who responds with speed, agility, and curiosity. Proven balance of art and science in decision-making while ensuring corporate accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working within complex global or geographic frameworks managing diverse territory constructs.
  • Experience advising cross-functional matrix teams on complex product matters requiring in-depth conceptual thinking.
  • Familiarity with collaborative design and mapping tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Miro.
