Senior Video Editor (Hybrid)

Location: Mettawa, Illinois

Compensation Range: $45 - 50 per hour

We are seeking a Senior Video Editor to create compelling, story-driven content that elevates our brand narrative. In this role, you will lead the post-production process while playing a key role in the planning and execution of video shoots. You aren’t just cutting footage; you are an essential creative partner who ensures every project is technically polished and strategically aligned.

Combining strong editorial judgment with hands-on production support, you will guide projects from initial concept through final delivery. If you are a versatile storyteller who thrives in both the edit suite and on-set, and you have a proven ability to deliver high-quality, on-brand video, we want you to join our creative team.

1 year assignment to start with potential to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs and performance.
 
Responsibilities:

• Edit high-quality video content that aligns with brand and creative objectives.
• Collaborate with writers, designers, and creative leadership to craft engaging visual stories
• Shape narrative, pacing, and tone across interview-driven ("talking head"), documentary-style, and branded content.
• Ensure brand consistency and technical excellence across all deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines with creative quality.
• Stay current with editing techniques, production workflows, and emerging tools.
• Partner with creative and project managers to align on goals, timelines, and expectations.
• Lead by example through strong creative execution, communication, and collaboration.
• Support video shoots, including developing shot lists, lighting setups, and equipment needs. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in video production, post-production, or an agency/creative environment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects); experience with audio editing required.
• Familiarity with AI tools and/or 3D workflows is a plus.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating narrative storytelling, interview-driven ("talking head") content, motion graphics, and typographic sensibility communication and organizational skills.
