Freelance Copywriter

Compensation Range: $45 - 50 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Marketing Copywriter to provide flexible, project-based support across marketing and communications initiatives. This role is designed for a seasoned writer who can jump in quickly to support overflow work, fast-turn requests, and short-form marketing content across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience writing consumer-facing, conversion-focused copy across a variety of formats, including lifecycle marketing, paid campaigns, promotional materials, and entertainment/film-related initiatives.

You'll partner closely with an editorial lead, designers, and internal marketing stakeholders to produce polished, strategic, and on-brand content that supports broader marketing and mission-driven objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Short-Form Marketing Copywriting. Create clear, compelling, and audience-focused copy across a range of deliverables, including:
• One-pagers, printed collateral, and promotional materials (VIP events, film promotions, campaign assets).
• Lifecycle email campaigns (welcome, nurture, retention, re-engagement).
• Paid media copy across social, display, and digital channels.
• Landing pages, promotional blurbs, and supporting marketing assets.
• Consumer-facing messaging tailored to campaign goals and audience needs.
• Participate in kickoff and briefing conversations with editorial leadership, designers, and marketing stakeholders.
• Translate business goals, messaging direction, and sometimes loosely defined requests into effective copy solutions.
• Independently manage workload, timelines, and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines, balancing speed with accuracy and strategic thinking.
• Quickly absorb and adapt to brand voice, tone, and messaging frameworks across multiple teams and initiatives.
• Tailor messaging to different audiences while maintaining consistency with brand standards and strategic priorities.
• Simplify complex, nuanced, or mission-driven topics into accessible, engaging, and actionable content.
• Partner closely with editorial leads, designers, and marketing teams throughout content development.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback efficiently while maintaining version control and copy quality.
• Contribute collaboratively within a fast-paced, evolving creative environment. 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional copywriting experience within marketing, communications, or content environments.
• Experience preferred across a combination of:
  ● Consumer-facing marketing campaigns
  ● Lifecycle email marketing
  ● Paid media / advertising copywriting
  ● Brand and promotional content development
  ● Mission-driven, nonprofit, advocacy, policy, think tank, or social impact environments (strong plus, but not required)
• Demonstrated success translating complex ideas into concise, engaging, audience-centered messaging.
