Compensation Range: $40 - 50 per hour
We are looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to create engaging and meaningful digital experiences across the portfolio of Shaw brands. The ideal candidate is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to develop user-centered design solutions for all levels of products and digital initiatives using research/data to create wireframes, flows and prototypes.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to development-ready design reviews.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to gain a thorough understanding of the product before presenting solution to improve the visual and interactive experience.
- Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, prototypes and process flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders using qualitative and/or quantitative data and/or user research.
- Uphold the enterprise design system across branded digital experiences.
- Adhere to brand style guides and standards on fonts, colors and images.
- Fundamental knowledge of user experience research and testing methods.
- Contribute to and promote design guidelines best practices and standards.
- Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, accessibility, etc.).
- A keen eye for detail, with the ability to recognize trends and user feedback
- Ability to work in an Agile environment, collaborate with other designers, and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
- A solid understanding of accessibility and usability guidelines and best practices.
- Fundamental knowledge of user experience research and testing methods.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar roles;
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, InVision, or other visual design and wireframing tools;
- Proven UX/UI experience for multiple platforms including desktop, mobile, and tablet viewports;
- Demonstrable UX/UI design skills with a strong portfolio;
- Familiar with analytics and experience platform tools, such as Google Analytics and FullStory.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction and accessibility;
- Solid experience in creating wireframes storyboards user flows and process flows;
- Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders;
- Understanding of motion design for informing interactive experiences;
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively;
- Up to date with the latest UI trends techniques and technologies;
- General understanding of the front-end development process including HTML and CSS;
- B.S. in Visual Design or Human-Computer Interaction Design is a plus.
