Financial Planning and Operations Manager

Los Angeles, CA | Job #1333123

Location: Los Angeles, California
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $50 - 60 per hour

We are seeking a builder-minded Production Financial Planning & Operations Analyst to help transform how a high-volume creative organization manages its production finances.

This role sits at the intersection of production, finance, and operations, and is responsible for owning the systems, processes, and data that power financial planning across projects. You will replace manual, fragmented workflows with scalable, automated solutions that improve visibility, accuracy, and decision-making.

This is not a traditional FP&A role. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker and operator who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys structuring complex processes, and builds tools that enable teams to work more efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Centralize and engineer a unified financial planning ecosystem to streamline fragmented workflows and reduce operational burdens for creative studio leadership.
  • Develop sophisticated data structures, automated controls, and reporting dashboards using advanced tooling to ensure total data integrity and eliminate version control risks.
  • Reconcile monthly campaign forecasts against actual expenditures cross-functionally to identify budget variances, mitigate financial risks, and surface actionable insights.
  • Partner as a consultative ally across creative, procurement, and corporate finance teams to drive accountability, establish budget governance, and maintain a singular cohesive view of total investments.

Qualifications:
Financial & Operational Expertise

  • 4-6 years' experience in FP&A, business operations, or production finance.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and procurement lifecycle.

Systems & Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Airtable or similar tools.
  • Dashboard/reporting experience (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Builder & Problem-Solver Mindset.
  • Ability to turn manual processes into scalable systems.
  • Strong process design and documentation skills.

Analytical Thinking

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Clear communication of complex financial concepts.

Interest in Automation & Emerging Technology

  • Experience or interest in automation and AI tools to improve workflows.
