Compensation Range: $44 - 47 per hour

We are seeking a Lead Technical Designer to own the fit and construction lifecycle—from initial concept through to commercialization and production. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that every style meets our rigorous standards for performance, sustainability, and profitability while adhering to strict development timelines. You aren't just managing garments; you are the guardian of product integrity and consistency across your assigned product group.

Responsibilities:

  • As a technical expert, you will create and manage comprehensive Tech Packs, maintaining all product specifications and prototype notes with precision.
  • You will drive the execution of fit standards, troubleshoot complex manufacturing challenges, and oversee the prototyping process to deliver proven, market-ready products.
  • By staying ahead of emerging technologies and market trends, you will act as a vital resource for the team, leading initiatives with high energy and ensuring every project aligns with corporate goals. If you are a disciplined problem-solver who excels at bridging the gap between design vision and production reality, we want you to lead our technical development.
  • In this role you will also be responsible for the Technical Design of assigned styles product. Working with Design, Product Management and PCC on tailoring the product to the specific consumer needs.
  • The Lead Technical Designer will collaborate with Design, Product Management, Product Creation Centers (PCC), Materials and Manufacturing partners, to effectively execute on product development & fit goals deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design, textile science or related field.
  • Additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years technical design experience in the apparel industry, which includes the apparel development process from inception through production including pattern making, grading, construction, materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.
  • Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting design intent, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical resource.
  • Expert in writing product specs and construction standards instructions.
  • Proficient working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international).
  • Must haves: years of experience, education, professional/functional credentials and certifications (for leveling), physical requirements (e.g., "ability to lift..."), and any country-specific items required by local laws (check with your local legal partners).
