Part-time Remote Licensing Specialist (Retail)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Brand Licensing & Compliance Coordinator for a part-time contract role (20 hours/week) to oversee the integrity and contractual compliance of our licensed product ecosystem. In this position, you will act as a vital gatekeeper, managing the end-to-end approval process for all licensee submissions-including product design, identity (ID), packaging, instructional manuals (IMs), and regulatory labeling.

You will be responsible for ensuring the total accuracy and timeliness of these submissions, utilizing Royalty Zone to manage contracts and compliance digital workflows. Beyond creative approvals, you will safeguard the brand by verifying that all licensees meet their specific contractual obligations, including essential product certifications and rigorous safety testing requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operational support to maintain and expand global licensing activity, programs and initiatives.
  • Support the approval process for all licensee submissions - product, ID, packaging,
  • IM's, regulatory labeling, marketing/communication collateral, web/digital/social uses of brands.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of licensee submissions within our contractual obligations using Royalty Zone (contract/compliance digital management system).
  • Ensure licensee compliance of contract obligations, product certifications and test requirements.
  • This is a Contractor role with 20 hours a week time commitment.

Reports To:

  • Licensing Manager

Position Requirements:

  • Work with licensees to manage product development process and timely execution.
  • Ensure that licensed products deliver a consistent quality level across all licensed categories and support the brand positioning of our core products.
  • Communicate brand strategies, guidelines and product/marketing initiatives to licensees to ensure that licensees are aware of and aligned on brand activities and for their use in sales and marketing presentations to retailers.
  • Facilitate alignment efforts, as needed between core internal teams and licensees for their marketing, promotion, social, in-store activation and e-commerce activities.
  • Provide weekly status of each licensee's activity and related licensing topics.

Conferences and Meetings:

  • Organize meetings as required with licensees and core teams (Regions, Brand Marketing, E-marketing, E-commerce, Sales and Compliance) to support the outbound and businesses. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in product development, marketing and/or licensing. Licensing experience preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and work across a broad scope of functions (product, sales, marketing, finance, legal), product categories, brands and business units.
  • Understanding of product categories, competition and specific trends impacting licensees' product portfolio.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration and influence skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives and strategies to maximize, grow, and evolve the business.
  • Ability to work within a Team environment as well as independently.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Word, Excel, and Power Point is essential.
  • Royalty Zone knowledge nice-to-have.
