Compensation Range: $54 - 64 per hour

Our client in the hospitality industry is looking for a Senior Architectural Project Manager. The Senior Architectural Project Manager is responsible for supporting the architectural and design needs of the Design & Construction Department for a diverse portfolio of hotel brands. This role ensures that franchise renovation projects, new constructions, and conversions align with brand identity, functional requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between creative conceptualization and technical compliance, managing high-volume project loads while mentoring junior staff.
 
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions Project Review & Compliance

  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and design submittals for franchise renovations, new constructions, and conversion properties to ensure brand alignment.
  • Conduct on-site Property Improvement Plan (PIP) visits for new and existing properties.
  • Author comprehensive PIP reports based on site assessments and established Brand design standards.
  • Perform construction site visits to verify compliance with approved plans, fixture locations, and prototype standards.

Design & Strategy

  • Provide conceptual designs, renderings, and sketches for renovations and potential new construction projects.
  • Maintain and update prototype plans and specification manuals to reflect evolving brand requirements.
  • Develop innovative design solutions that address specific operational programs and brand interests.

Leadership & Management

  • Oversee junior team members or external consultants to ensure high-quality, timely output.
  • Develop internal documents and processes to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously at various stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Independently problem-solve and make time-critical decisions regarding design and construction hurdles.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Provide technical support and clear communication to franchisees and outside consultants regarding Design Guidelines and Brand Standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional internal departments to align brand interests with property development goals. 

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat software.
  • Preferred but not required skills in digital photography equipment and photo modification software (Photoshop).
  • Preferred but not required skills in in 3D computer programs such as Sketch-up & Revit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Has managerial skills needed to direct temporary workers or interns.
  • Work is analytical, non-standard and widely varied, requiring the interpretation and application of a variety of policies and procedures. Analytic ability and inductive thinking are required for the application of multiple, technical activities. Problem solving involves identification and analysis of diverse issues.
  • Makes analytical decisions; supervision is present to establish and review broad objectives relative to basic position duties or divisional responsibilities.
  • Has intermediate knowledge of theories and practices of a professional field. This level of skill is typically reserved for an individual with a four-year degree, or a high-level vocational skill demonstrated by a number of years of on-the- position experience (i.e., management).
  • Writes reports using technical data requiring considerable interpretation, developing new methods and procedures. Frequently applies knowledge to practical issues and problems.
  • Solves problems that involve identification and analysis of diverse problems; answers are usually found by reviewing standard technical manuals and administrative procedures and modifying them for unusual situations. Guidance is usually provided on what sources to review and solutions are reviewed before acceptance.
  • Completes work that requires using original and creative thinking to develop new, moderately complex results. The results generally impact several work groups, a large project or an extended customer base.
  • Applies established technology solutions and makes recommendations for use of technology to improve individual or small work group efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serves as a lead project team member checking the work of others. An employee in this position may be responsible for training of new team members. Work is typical in nature with occasional situations requiring new solutions.
  • Requires regular contacts to carry out programs and to explain non-specialized matter or occasional contacts with officials at higher levels on matters requiring cooperation, explanation and persuasion.
  • Requires regular external contacts to carry out organization programs and to explain non-specialized matters. Position requires contacts with customers or the public which usually involve regular sales, service, or business relationships but where the primary responsibility for resolving difficulties lies with someone else.
