As Associate Creative Director (ACD), you will be responsible for crafting messaging for major annual events, maintaining enterprise-level brand guidelines, developing internal associate initiatives, and building visual and verbal identities across a wide variety of platforms. The ideal candidate brings a blend of high-level leadership and "sleeves-up" creative expertise, with a proven track record in both in-house and agency environments.

In this role, you'll infuse our work with humanity and specificity. You'll breathe the brief, develop innovative solutions, and lead a team of writers to send work into the world that does genuine good.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Concept & Strategy: Own end-to-end concept development and build strategic frameworks that ladder back to the business brief.
  • Enterprise Brand Cohesion: Serve as a thought leader to elevate the work and ensure a unified brand voice and style guide application across all formats.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and growth opportunities for copy leads and writers.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Foster deep relationships with business partners to build trust, alignment, and a shared understanding of goals and limitations.
  • Creative Refinement: Support the Creative Director's vision with conceptual polish and data-driven creative direction.
  • Omnichannel Execution: Translate high-level strategy into meaningful creative for in-store signing, website creative, social, and large-scale campaigns.
  • External Management: Collaborate with external agencies to ensure their work aligns with our internal brand standards and marketing goals.
  • Presentation & Advocacy: Create and deliver impactful presentations, confidently speaking to creative choices and acting as a proxy for leadership in high-level meetings.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to a high-performance culture by overseeing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly growing retail and e-commerce environment.

Qualifications:

  • Portfolio: An impressive online portfolio is required for consideration.
  • Experience: 8+ years in creative, communications, or marketing execution.
  • Leadership: 5+ years of excellence in a supervisory or people-management role.
  • Specialization: 5+ years managing copy within online creative or digital fields.
  • Enterprise Scale: Demonstrated experience developing and executing complex design and messaging systems for large-scale enterprises.
  • Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence and the ability to manage expectations across a wide variety of partners and expertise areas.
  • Adaptability: Proactive and comfortable with the ambiguity of a rapidly shifting retail landscape.
