Austin, TX | Job #1367078

Location: Hybrid onsite 4 days a week in Austin or Dallas TX
Type: 1 year contract with potential for extension
Compensation Range: $43-$45/hr W2

The Digital Marketing Content Author will provide hands-on publishing for Client public websites. The primary focus is supporting high-volume business-as-usual publishing in Drupal.

In this role, you will build and update pages, perform quality checks, apply accessibility and content standards, and support release readiness. Based on team needs, you may also support Sanity authoring, content transition activities for planned initiatives.

This is a hands-on execution role to apply established content models, taxonomy, governance and accessibility requirements to deliver public web experiences but will not own content strategy, copywriting, taxonomy or content-model design, UX design or technical development.

Responsibilities:
High-Volume Web Page Authoring & Assembly (Core Focus)

  • Build, configure, and maintain public-facing web pages in Drupal using pre-approved component libraries, structured templates, and brand style guides.
  • Enter, format, and structure text, imagery, links, taxonomy, and SEO metadata from approved source documents.
  • Manage high-volume production queues in Jira, balancing competing deadlines, standard BAU maintenance, and same-day urgent publishing requests.
  • Route completed builds through established review, staging, compliance sign-offs, and scheduled release workflows.
  • Support upcoming CMS transition activities and content re-platforming into Sanity as needed.

Self-QA, Peer Review & Defect Troubleshooting

  • Conduct rigorous self-QA on every ticket before staging to verify responsive layout, link targets, copy alignment, and visual presentation across desktop and mobile.
  • Perform routine peer QA reviews on fellow authors' staged work to catch formatting errors or missing tags before deployment.
  • Apply baseline digital accessibility standards (WCAG) at the content level, including alt text, semantic heading hierarchy, and link styling.
  • Troubleshoot content-level presentation defects, coordinating directly with technical teams or developers when component bugs arise.

Publishing Hygiene & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Follow enterprise publishing controls, governance rules, and strict regulatory review steps.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing managers, product partners, and developers to clarify ticket assets and unblock workflow dependencies.
  • Flag missing assets, scope issues, or launch dependencies proactively to team leads.

Qualifications:

  • Enterprise CMS Experience: 3+ years hands-on experience authoring, publishing, and updating content inside enterprise CMS platforms (Drupal strongly preferred).
  • High-Volume Production: Proven background managing daily ticket queues under tight SLAs in Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable enterprise workflow tools.
  • Component-Based Publishing: Solid understanding of building pages using design systems, reusable modular components, and structured content models.
  • Web Fundamentals: Practical working knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design principles, metadata, and basic SEO hygiene.
  • Accessibility Awareness: Understanding of digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and hands-on content remediation (headings, alt tags, link descriptions).
  • Execution Focus: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced assembly role focused on accuracy, speed, and process compliance rather than original copywriting or design.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Clear communication skills with the confidence to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and flag production issues early.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience publishing within a regulated enterprise environment (Financial Services, Banking, Healthcare, or Insurance).
  • Familiarity with headless CMS platforms (Sanity).
  • Experience supporting large-scale content modernization or website migration projects.
