Technical Product Designer - Accessories and Apparel (Hybrid)

Location: Framingham, MA (2x/week on site, 3x/week remote)
Duration: Estimated through April 30, 2027
Compensation Range: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Cella is seeking a Product Development Designer on behalf of an established global retail client. This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the end-to-end design and execution of seasonal product lines focusing on handbags, accessories, and apparel.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the creation and development of designs for ladies' apparel.
• Collaborates with senior designers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet quality standards and market demands.
• Researches fashion trends, including attending trade shows and conducting market research.
• Create sketches and technical drawings to communicate design concepts.
• Participates in product development meetings to discuss design ideas, materials, and production techniques.
• Assists in the selection of materials, colors, and trims for designs.
• Provides support in the development of quarterly product, including creating mood boards and assisting with fabric and color selections.
• Collaborates with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality production of designs.
• Stays up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturing techniques. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or equivalent practical work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fashion design or technical product development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) across PC and Mac operating environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong technical design background, including understanding of garment and accessory construction, pattern making, and flat sketches.
• Familiarity with apparel and accessories retail merchandising and production workflows.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under seasonal deadlines.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and clear written and verbal communication skills.
