Senior Footwear Designer (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid in Beaverton, OR (onsite M-Th, remote F)
Duration: 3-month contract
Compensation Range: $61-64.00/hr

Cella is seeking an experienced Senior Footwear Designer with specialized graphic design expertise to support a premier athletic and lifestyle footwear brand for a temporary leave-coverage assignment. This role operates across both Kids and Core Footwear product lines. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end footwear and graphic design development, from initial concept generation and storytelling through design specification and final execution.
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional footwear design teammates and design leadership to build cohesive seasonal design direction.
• Develop graphic applications, visual systems, and color/material narratives tailored specifically for footwear product silhouettes.
• Manage multiple design deliverables simultaneously across shifting timelines and varying levels of project complexity while adhering to product briefs.
• Deliver technical specification packages and production-ready artwork to development partners, ensuring design intent is maintained through manufacturing.
• Actively participate in design reviews and presentations, communicating creative concepts clearly and proactively across leadership and partner teams. 

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional footwear design experience, with proven capability in integrated product graphic design.
• Direct prior experience designing performance or lifestyle footwear within industry-leading athletic footwear and basketball brand ecosystems.
• Advanced proficiency in industry-standard digital tools, specifically Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Miro.
• Comprehensive understanding of typography, color theory, visual systems, footwear construction, and manufacturing materials.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous design challenges and deliver refined solutions within tight project parameters.
• Collaborative communication style with a strong team-first mindset.
• Experience with physical prototyping/cobbling, 3D design software, or generative AI rendering tools is a plus.
• A portfolio showcasing footwear ideation, technical execution, and graphic design systems is required.
