CAD Designer / BIM Coordinator (Hybrid in GA)

Location: Hybrid work schedule 2-3 days per week in Dalton, GA
Schedule: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri
Duration: 6 Months (Contract) - potential to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs and performance
Compensation Range: $31 - 34 per hour

This contract role presents a unique opportunity to serve as a vital bridge between conceptual facility design and physical implementation for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will oversee digital building plans, manage engineering files as an Autodesk Vault administrator, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional engineering teams.
 
Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 2D technical drawings across Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Electrical facility systems.
• Create, manage, and optimize digital building floor plans, layouts, and assets using AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and CAFM/IWMS systems to support building operations and maintenance.
• Serve as Autodesk Vault administrator, managing digital design ecosystem files, security permissions, user roles, and plant information.
• Review architectural drawing sets for constructability, functionality, and compliance with National CAD Standards (NCS), International Building Code (IBC), ADA, and Life Safety guidelines.
• Interpret and synthesize GIS, FEMA, and GSWCC maps, manuals, and local city/state building codes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models and provide technical leadership and training to CAD technicians.
• Collaborate directly with Global Facilities, Design Services, and Grounds Management leadership to execute architectural drawings for roofing, paving, mechanical, and civil projects. 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional experience using AutoCAD and Revit beyond formal education.
• 5+ years of experience collaborating directly with Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex Civil, Structural, and Architectural drawing sets and construct comprehensive Construction Documents.
• Hands-on proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, with strong design software troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to drive up to 3 hours per day for facility site visits and manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Active AutoCAD or Revit certification is preferred.
