Minneapolis, MN | Job #1330528

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $50 - 57 per hour

We are seeking a Retail Development Manager to lead the strategic implementation of retail initiatives that drive the sell-in of licensed goods across major global channels. In this role, you will be the primary driver of brand growth, transforming creative licensed concepts into tangible market success. You aren't just managing accounts; you are architecting the physical presence of our brand at retail to capture consumer imagination and maximize commercial impact.

As the key point of contact for retailers and licensees, you will manage daily high-stakes interactions to ensure seamless operations and high-velocity sales. You will be responsible for maintaining elite standards for in-store presentation, ensuring that our brand expansion is supported by engaging, high-quality consumer products and immersive retail experiences. If you are a results-oriented professional who excels at the intersection of brand management, retail strategy, and relationship building, we want you to help us elevate our global retail footprint.

Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Oversee partnerships with Target and various licensees to maximize both sell-in and sell-through of licensed merchandise within Hardlines, specifically focusing on Sporting Goods, Bullseye's Playground, Food & Beverage, and Essentials & Beauty.
  • Strategy Implementation: Carry out localized retail strategies across assigned product categories.
  • Performance Tracking: Evaluate retail metrics to pinpoint growth areas for increased sales volume and wider distribution.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Coordinate with licensing category leads to facilitate product debuts and retail-specific activations alongside licensees.
  • Brand Integrity: Maintain strict brand alignment and compliance for all licensed goods and their placement on the sales floor.
  • Field Audits: Perform regular store walkthroughs and retail inspections to verify merchandising excellence and scout for untapped market potential.
  • Market Analysis: Review sales figures, industry trends, and competitor movements to stay ahead of the market.
  • Internal Synergy: Work closely with Marketing, Category, and Franchise teams to bolster promotional campaigns.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Aid in developing filmmaker presentations, brand overviews, style guidelines, and comprehensive post-campaign reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years in professional roles within licensing, retail, consumer goods, or business development.
  • Industry Knowledge: A foundational understanding of the entertainment sector, retail landscape, or specific product categories is highly valued.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to manage projects autonomously with a high degree of organization, precision, and proactive follow-up.
  • Proven Track Record: Prior experience navigating licensed brands or managing strategic retail partnerships is preferred.
  • Strategic Mindset: A deep comprehension of modern retail environments and effective merchandising techniques.
  • Commute to Minneapolis, MN.
