We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Consumer Products & Product Development to lead the creative transformation of our intellectual properties into innovative, multi-category commercial products. In this role, you will guide product development from initial creative concept through to retail launch, ensuring merchandise assortments are strategic, market-relevant, and distinctly differentiated across retail channels.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leads to guide product development from the initial creative concept and partner kickoff through to the retail launch, ensuring assortments are well-designed, strategic, and distinctly differentiated across retail channels.
- Partner with retail, licensing, and strategy executives to drive and influence the creative transformation of our titles into multi-category consumer products, focusing on innovative, market-relevant development while maintaining brand alignment.
- Direct and advise licensees, retailers, and brands on effectively translating our intellectual properties into highly successful consumer products across all developing merchandise lines.
- Analyze and explore emerging product trends, strategic frameworks, and advanced product design and development methodologies.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with external licensees and brands, as well as internal Consumer Products (CP) teams and cross-functional organizational partners.
- Onboard licensees and collaborative partners into internal systems, ensuring the seamless and timely delivery of creative assets.
- Oversee and manage the product approval process via internal workflows to maintain rigorous standards in brand storytelling, design development, and final execution.
Qualifications:
TOP 3 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in multi-category consumer products design and consumer products development (licensed & vertical product design).
- Direct experience working within major studio title consumer product programs.
- Strong trending capabilities with a diverse product development background centered on customer/fan engagement.
- Soft Skills: Self-motivated, highly accountable, direct communication style, comfortable with rapid ideation, collaborative across cross-functional, matrixed teams.
