Our client in the sports betting industry is seeking a temporary Marketing Spend Operations Analyst to provide execution and coverage support.
This role will focus on the critical Monday and Tuesday weekly spend-reporting cycle, including data validation, issue follow-up, reconciliation, and final publication support. The contractor will work closely with the Spend Operations team, Marketing stakeholders, and Data Engineering to help ensure weekly marketing spend reporting remains accurate, timely, and reliable.
This is an execution-focused role and will not include formal people management or ownership of the broader Spend Operations roadmap.
Hours: 20 hours per week (approx.) - will be worked Mon-Wed and must be available during EST business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Support Monday preparation and validation of weekly marketing spend data.
- Review outputs for missing, inconsistent, or unexpected data and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate owners.
- Perform Tuesday reconciliation, quality assurance, and final publication-readiness checks.
- Support final report publication, which may occur as late as 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesdays.
- Document issues, decisions, corrections, and unresolved follow-ups.
- Provide backup coverage for recurring workflows when other team members are unavailable.
- Partner with the Bulgaria-based Spend Operations team to maintain clear handoffs and process continuity.
- Support testing and validation of new Sigma dashboards, automated data feeds, and other process improvements as capacity permits.
- Escalate technical incidents to Data Engineering and operational or business decisions to the appropriate Spend Operations leader.
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience in marketing operations, financial operations, business operations, analytics operations, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting recurring reporting, reconciliation, budget, forecast, or financial-data processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify data-quality issues and unexpected variances.
- Comfort working with large datasets, dashboards, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Ability to follow documented processes while applying sound judgment when exceptions occur.
- Strong written communication and the ability to coordinate effectively across teams and time zones.
- Availability throughout the full Monday and Tuesday operating windows, including occasional late Tuesday publication support.
- Experience with Tableau, Sigma, SQL, marketing-spend data, or financial reporting is preferred.

- Success will be measured by:
- Accurate and on-time completion of assigned weekly reporting activities.
- Reliable coverage of the late Tuesday publication window.
- Clear documentation and escalation of issues.
- Reduced execution and capacity risk for the permanent Spend Operations team.
- Effective knowledge transfer and collaboration with the Bulgaria-based operators.
- A smooth transition of responsibilities once the permanent manager is onboarded and the operating model is stable.
